If you are 60 years or older, and live in Jackson County, we offer a wide variety of services for you. If you're a family member, caregiver, or friend of a senior who needs assistance, or a senior who is raising a grandchild, call us for information and referral.

Recipients of service are asked to make donations for the services they receive. The following are some of the services available:

Information & Case Coordination - - To help locate and make connections with services you want and need or to just explore your options.

HOMES (HOUSEHOLD and OUTDOOR MAINTENANCE ESPECIALLY for SENIORS - - Trained volunteers conduct a home safety survey and perform basic safety-related repairs. No charge for service, but suggested donations are welcome.

Alzheimer's and Dementia Services - - Various services are available for families caring for a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease or another form of dementia. Services include In-Home Respite, Adult Day Care, Alzheimer's Caregiver Training, and Alzheimer's Support Group. Memory Screening is available for people with unusual memory loss. Caregiver Information & Assistance - - Helping caregivers access resources and explore options. For details on Caregiver Information & Assistance, click here.

Chore Service - - Non-continuous household maintenance tasks essential to a senior's health or safety, such as installation of bathroom grab bars, stair handrails, smoke detectors, or snow removal.

Counseling - - Individualized counseling to aide in coping with grief and loss as the result of health changes, death of a loved one, or other life changing experience.

Depression Screening - - Depression is not a normal part of aging. If you think you may be experiencing a persistent sense of 'the blues', have a depression screen. For more information, click here.

Grandparents and Other Relatives as Parents - - Support services for relatives (age 55 years and older) who are serving as parents to children (age 18 and younger). For more information on the Grandparent Program, click here.

In-Home Services - - Including assistance with housekeeping and bathing. For more information about In-Home Services, click here.

Meals on Wheels - - Hot, nutritious meals delivered for homebound seniors. For more information on the Home Meals on Wheels program, click here.

MMAP - Michigan Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program - - Provides assistance with Medicare and Medicaid concerns, and information on how to shop for and compare Supplemental Insurance policies, call our MMAP Volunteers, at (517) 768-8655. They are available Thursday mornings, at the Department on Aging.

Respite Services - - Care for a loved one so that a family caregiver can have a few hours of 'time off' while a home care worker cares for the dependent senior. For more information about Respite Services, click here.

Senior Meal Sites and Senior Centers - - Nutritious meals and senior activities at ten locations. For more information on senior meal sites and senior centers, click here.

Supportive Services - - Help paying for medications, dental care, personal emergency response systems and other unmet needs, as funding permits.
