Scheduling A Motion

 

Civil Motions
Civil Motions should be scheduled on Tuesdays, or Fridays at 1:00 p.m. The original motion should be filed with the Jackson County Clerk’s Office. A Judge’s copy should be sent separately to the Judge’s office. It is not necessary to call the Judge’s office to schedule a motion hearing.

 

Domestic Motions
Domestic Motions should be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. The original motion should be filed with the Jackson County Clerk’s Office. A Judge’s copy should be sent separately to the Judge’s office. It is not necessary to call the Judge’s office to schedule a motion hearing.

 

Summary Disposition Motions
Summary Disposition Motions must be scheduled with the Judge’s office at (517) 788-4390. These are generally heard on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., with thirty (30) minutes allotted for each motion.

 

PPO Motions
All PPO motions should be scheduled on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. It is not necessary to call the Judge’s office to schedule a motion hearing.

 

Criminal Motions
Criminal motions should be scheduled on Tuesdays or Fridays at 8:45 a.m. The original motion should be filed with the Clerk’s office and a Judge’s copy should be sent separately to the Judge’s office. It is not necessary to call the Judge’s office to schedule a motion hearing.
