The principal duties are:
Custodian of all county funds, complete responsibility of all county bank accounts, maintains general and detail ledgers, invests all county monies, collector of all delinquent property taxes, complete responsibility of Delinquent Tax Revolving Funds which enables all units, cities, townships, villages, schools and Junior college to have full use of their tax levies, conducts annual tax sales of real estate properties delinquent three or more years, certifies warranty deeds, collects delinquent personal property taxes for 18 units, prepares and mails delinquent tax notices in connection with tax histories and searches, handles landfill tickets and the accounting, handles complete program for dog licenses, is a member of the county Plat Board, County Election Commission, County Financial Management Committeee, on support staff of County Quality 1 (a total quality management concept) and Jackson County Building Authority.
Dog Licenses:
December 1 to February 28 are available from the City Treasurer, County Treasurer, Township Treasurer and Animal Shelter. After March 1, only from County Treasurer or Animal Shelter.
