Grass Lake County Park - Jackson County Parks Descriptions

 

This 9 acre park has picnic areas, grills, a shelter, playground area, modern restrooms, a boat launch and a swimming area.

 

Location:

Grass Lake Township
Just North of the Village of Grass Lake

400 N Lake Road

Grass Lake MI  49240

 

Directions:

Take I-94 East to exit 150 toward Grass Lake.  Turn right (South) onto Mt Hope Rd. Mt Hope Rd. changes to N Union St.  Turn right (West) onto E. Michigan Ave.  Turn right (North) onto N Lake St.  The park is approximately a half mile down N Lake St.

 

Events:

Annual take a kid ice fishing day, Mid-February; also take a kid fishing day, Mid-June.  Both events are free of charge.

 

Rules:

No alcohol is allowed and pets are not allowed in the picnic or beach areas.  Swim at your own risk, no lifeguard on duty.

 

History:

This 9-acre park was obtained in 1938 and opened as a park in 1941.  In 1995, the park was upgraded with the building of a seawall to help the beach from eroding away.
