Vandercook Lake County Park - Jackson County Parks Descriptions

 

This 17 acre park includes a swim area, 3 ball diamonds, a boat launch, playground area, fishing area, grills, 2 picnic shelters and modern restrooms.

 

Location:
551 Avenue A, Vandercook Lake, Summit Township

 

Directions:

Take US-127 South to Floyd Ave.  Turn right (West) on Floyd Ave.  Floyd Ave changes into Avenue C St.  Avenue C St then turns left and becomes Echo Beach Dr.

Rules:

Alcohol and pets are prohibited.  Swim at your own risk, no lifeguard on duty.

 

Hours:

The park is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Vandercook Ball Diamond

 

History:

Originally known as Hague Park in the early 20th century, it was an amusement park until 1938.

In 1938, it was renamed the Townsend Beaman County Park in homage to Beaman, a Jackson patent attorney.  A plaque still stands in his memory in the center of the park.
