Jackson County Clerks Office - Obtaining a Death Record

COME DIRECTLY TO THE JACKSON COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE
Our office is located on the first floor of the Jackson County Courthouse, which is on the corner of South Jackson and Wesley Streets. The cost of a certified death record is $10.00 for the first copy and $2.00 for each additional copy. Cash, Check /Cashier's check (made out to the Jackson County Clerk's Office) Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted.

 

SEND A WRITTEN REQUEST TO THE JACKSON COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE

The cost of a certified death record is $10.00 for the first copy and $2.00 for each additional copy. You may send a check or cashier's check made payable to the Jackson County Clerk's Office. Our mailing address is: 312 S. Jackson Street, Jackson, MI 49201. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of  the death record.   All mail requests are filled and mailed back out the same day that they are received in our office.

 In order to make a correction to a Michigan death record, you will need to submit an official application. The application must include the correct payment and in most situations appropriate supporting documentation. Each application includes instructions on how to complete the form, information on who is eligible to request the correction or change, the documentation that is required, and the appropriate fee payment.
