Being pregnant and having a new baby can be stressful. There are many changes that take place. The Maternal Infant Health Program can help pregnant women and infants from birth to 12 months adjust by providing help from a nurse, social worker, and nutritionist. We can work with your health care provider to assist with issues such as:

On is an early intervention program which
provides educational, health and social
services to children with special needs.
- Any child aged birth to three years with
special medical, physical, or developmental
needs and their family, regardless of income.
- Available services include: free evaluation
of child's abilities and needs, help finding
needed services, speech and language therapy,
hearing and vision services, occupational
therapy, physical therapy, nursing and health
services, famioy training, toy/equipment
lending, family support services, play groups,
home visits, and many others.

and children in grades K, 2, 4, and 6 in
Jackson County schools for hearing defects.
The Jackson County Health Department provides
a walk-in Hearing and Vision clinic twice
a month (first and third Fridays from
1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) throughout the
school year for all Jackson County residents.

(Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) |

or SUDS (Sudden Unexpected Death Syndrome)

of the services provided to our community
is bereavement support and this service is
free of charge.
- This
service is for families who have suffered
the loss of an infant to SIDS or SUDS, and
the loss of an infant between the age of 1
month and 1 year who has died and the cause
is not obvious.
- This
Includes sepsis, positional asphyxia and accidental
suffocation.
