To get the right start in life, your baby and young children must have good food and a nutritious diet. Good eating habits begin with you during pregnancy and continue during the important years.

NEED HELP?
WIC provides special foods, and information on nutrition along with other services. You can enroll in WIC if you are:

  • A pregnant woman
  • A postpartum woman
  • A breast feeding mother
  • If you have a child under 5
AND...

All services provided by WIC are free.


WHAT DOES MEDICAL OR NUTRITIONAL RISK MEAN?

Some typical health risks are: low blood iron or anemia, too much or too little weight gain (for pregnant women and children), poor diet, chronic disease, and developmental disabilities. Other health risks include past problems during pregnancy such as low birth weight or premature delivery.
