Cascades Golf Course
The Cascades course, located in the southern part of the City of Jackson, is a course that a golfer must play if he or she wants to play one of the best public courses in Michigan. The course was established in 1929 and is operated by the Jackson County Parks Department. Cascades is challenging, long by most standards, and features water and beautiful scenery. The signature hole is # 17, a par four measuring 383 yards from the white tees. A creek runs across the fairway 240 yards out and the approach is played to a severely sloped green guarded by trees and bunkers.

The Cascades, within the boundaries of the Sparks Foundation County Park, is one of Jackson’s most spectacular attractions. For more than 85 years, The Cascades has captivated locals and visitors from around the world. Jackson’s most famous landmark, under the management of the Jackson County Parks Department, promises to amaze and delight for generations to come. Family Fun Night is every Wednesday in the summer and you can expect live music and costumed characters, along with the Falls. Falling Waters Trail
Connecting the Village of Concord with the City of Jackson, the trail was built on an abandoned stretch of the Michigan Central Railroad. The 10.5-mile, 12-foot-wide paved trail is ideal for walking, running, or biking. As it travels through natural springs and lakes that form the headwaters of four major Michigan rivers. At the western trailhead in Concord, the trail crosses over the Kalamazoo River where you can view a great expanse of wetlands filled with abundant wildlife. At the mid-point of the trail, stop, relax, and enjoy the natural beauty of the picturesque Lime Lake. This is a trail you will want to visit time and time again to experience the seasonal changes in scenery.

Splash Pad
If you’re looking for a fun-filled, bucket list-type day, we’ve got a solution for you. In 2017, we completed a long anticipated splash pad project at The Cascades in Jackson. With more than a dozen water features, highlighted by the giant dumping bucket, this provides an opportunity for children and families to cool off on a hot summer day. The splash pad is situated in a fenced in area on the south side of the historic Cascades Fall in Sparks Foundation County Park, and includes lounge chairs and a patio area. There are on-site concessions, and Cascades Ice Cream is, of course, just around the corner.
