Fleet & Equipment

The Jackson County Department of Transportation has five mechanics at the Elm Road garage, and one mechanic each, at the Clark Lake garage and Parma garage. The mechanics are responsible for maintaining a fleet of over 350 maintenance vehicles and equipment items.

Our talented staff is dedicated to keeping our vehicles running through all types of weather. Not only do they complete engine repairs on numerous types of vehicles, they weld and fabricate custom parts and equipment. They  truly make things hum.

Some of the equipment residents may see on county roads include: dump trucks, gravel train trailers, patch trucks and snowplows, graders, backhoes, mowers, street sweepers and more!  We are delighted to have acquired 14 new plow trucks in 2016.
