The Jackson County Department of Transportation operates four garages within the county; Clark Lake, Elm Road, Henrietta and Parma.  JCDOT is responsible for winter maintenance on all county roads and state trunklines. Winter maintenance activities include applying salt and sand, as well as plowing snow on roadways and shoulders.

Routine Winter Procedures

 

The Jackson County Department of Transportation maintains roadside brush and trims trees throughout the winter months, as time allows. Crews clear brush around road signs, and also clear any brush that would come in contact with the trucks during snow removal. Crews also perform pothole maintenance and ditching.
