Silvano the Tuxedo Cat

"I am a member of the Pieces and Patches Quilt Guild and one of the charitable organizations that our guild supports is the Jackson County Animal Shelter. We make cage comforters, which are basically little quilts, for the animals that reside at the shelter. Last November I accompanied fellow guild member, Nancy, to the shelter to meet the staff and deliver some comforters that were made and donated by guild members. I was very favorably impressed by with the facility and the people working there."

"There was one resident kitty that caught my eye. I think it was his beautiful green eyes that hooked me." Read the full story of how Silvano got his name and a new home.

Happiness Is A New Home

"We adopted a very shy and scared Sheltie whom we have named Arthur. He is making great progress every day with all the love and attention that we shower on him. He goes for daily walks and seems to do well on a routine. Arthur has gained some much needed weight and loves his new home. He has a new spark in his eyes and knows his name now. Thank you for letting us adopt him."

New Leash on Life

The Jackson County Animal Shelter has donated dogs to the U.S. Customs office to be trained as narcotic dogs. The dogs must pass a basic test at the Animal Shelter. If the test is passed, the dog goes into basic training. We have sent 5 dogs to the U.S. Customs and 4 have passed their training. The fifth was placed into a home.
