Many Department on Aging programs rely heavily upon the regular assistance of a group of dedicated volunteers.
Volunteers can serve as little as an hour or two a month, once a week, or more frequently. Volunteering is a great way to keep active while helping others in the process. Consider some of the opportunities listed below:
Enrichment Class Instructors
Teach a class involving a craft or skill or share from your knowledge or experience.
MMAP (Medicare and Medicaid Assistance Program) Counselors
Under the direction of the MMAP coordinator, counsel people who have Medicare and Medicaid concerns; provide information on how to select supplemental insurance policies.
Nutrition Site and Senior Center Volunteers
Help serve meals, welcome new participants and assist with special programs and events.
Senior Center Greeters
Welcome guests as they arrive in the senior center; alert staff when a visitor arrives.
Senior Center Craft Corner
Assist customers shopping in our craft sale area.
Tax Volunteers
Under the mentorship of experienced volunteers, assist seniors with the preparation of income tax forms and credits (seasonal opportunity) to learn more go to the
