Community Corrections

Jackson County Community Corrections mission is to provide effective, local, community-based alternatives to incarceration that promote public safety, hold offenders accountable, and improve their ability to live lawfully and productively in the community.

Community Corrections is a community based sanction and rehabilitative program aimed at relieving prison and jail overcrowding through court approved sentencing alternatives.

Non-violent offenders are placed into community sanctions, rather than in jail or prison, to free up corrections space for more serious offenders. Rehabilitative and monitoring options include substance abuse, inpatient treatment, monitoring services, substance use testing, community service work, cognitive programming and post-sentence release supervision.
