New Tobacco Support Services in Jackson County

A new Peer Led Tobacco Support Group will be meeting downtown at the Jackson District Library, Carnegie Location from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm every Monday evening starting June 25th.  This group will be peer led and is open to any former tobacco use as well as anyone who is trying to quit but desires to attend a meeting where they can receive additional support for quitting.  Discussion will take place in a safe and confidential space. This flyer will give you more details.  Call (517) 205-7495 if you have any questions. 


Additional Quit Resources are available.

Henry Ford Allegiance Tobacco Treatment Services - One on One or individualized counseling sessions provided by the Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialists.  Services are free to anyone using tobacco or who is concerned about someone using tobacco.  Call (517) 205-7444 for more information.


Lifeways Group Sessions - Tobacco and You: Learn How to Quit Smoking.  This group session is free and is offered on Thursdays, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Lifeways building.  Enter in the back parking lot.  Contact Chad Lige, Wellnes Coach  at (517) 78-3380, or chad.lige@lifewayscmh.org

 

Michigan Tobacco Quitline - The quitline offers resources and referrals.  Counseling and Nicotine Replacement Therapy are available to those who qualify.  A special program designed for pregnant smokers is also available and includes incentives.   Call 1-800-784-8669 to enroll or get more information. 

 

This flyer has information on the quit services available in Jackson County (minus the Support Services) as well as national and state resources on the backside.)  The Jackson Tobacco Reduction Coalition serves as the Smoke Free Health Action Team for the Jackson County area and is focused on reducing tobacco use in both adults and youth.  This includes e-cigarettes, hookah and other alternative forms of tobacco that have caught the nation's interest.  

The JTRC can provide you with resources, information, education, policy assistance and advocacy awareness on issues surround tobacco
