The Jackson County Department of Transportation (JCDOT) announced plans to develop a Comprehensive Transportation Safety Action Plan (CTSAP), known as Safe Roads for Jackson County.
Jackson County applied for and secured a U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant, which will help fund the safety action plan. The goal of SS4A is to develop a strategy to help reduce the number of crashes and prevent fatalities and serious injuries on the county’s roadways.
Key components of the safety action plan include a comprehensive safety analysis, community engagement, and identifying and prioritizing safety strategies and projects. The safety action plan will prioritize roadway and infrastructure projects that address transportation safety challenges and support the county’s efforts to secure future funding opportunities for safety projects.
