Scheduling A Motion

Civil Motions


Civil Motions should be scheduled on alternate Tuesdays (according to weekly schedule page) or Fridays at 10 a.m., The original motion should be filed with the Jackson County Clerk's Office. A Judge's copy should be sent separately to the Judge's office. It is not necessary to call the Judge's office to schedule a Civil motion hearing.

Domestic Motions


Domestic Motions should be scheduled on either Tuesdays (non-neglect weeks only) or Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. for attorney Motions and 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays (non-neglect weeks only) or 10 a.m. Thursdays for Pro Per Motions. The original motion should be filed with the Jackson County Clerk's Office. A Judge's copy should be sent separately to the Judge's office. It is not necessary to call the Judge's office to schedule a Domestic motion hearing. View the 2016 Neglect and Delinquency Calendar (PDF).

Summary Disposition Motions


Summary Disposition Motions must be scheduled with the Judge's office at 517-768-8511. These are generally heard on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 3 and 3:30 p.m. with 30 minutes allotted for each motion.


PPO Motions


All PPO motions should be scheduled on alternate Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. (according to weekly schedule page), and Thursdays at 10 a.m. It is not necessary to call the Judge's office to schedule a motion hearing.
